This is the first time that I have been disappointed with Dell, and their handling of the situation. And I do not like using my personal MS account to download software for office purpose.ĭell now tells me that MS is not releasing any media for Office 2016, and I have no choice but to download Office 16 OEM from Windows Support. I have my personal account, but I am sure I will be branded if I start using that for multiple copies of Office 16, based on multiple Activation codes. Also, Microsoft needs me to provide my MS related email and log in. Yes, I can do that, but I do not want to do it. When I send them all CAPS and RED colored email saying they sent me the wrong thing, they suggested I go to Microsoft OEM site and download it.

They said they would send me a media immediately, and I got a fedex from them the very next day: Another Activation Code for Windows 2016.

I had a tough time explaining them that they have sent me a different installer in the machine. At last, I got the phone number and told them the problem. It took me couple of hours to track down the concerned customer service department, as they would push me around from here to there. I have Office 2013 installer in the machine, and Office 2016 Activation codes, and not only in one machine, but the whole lot. While assigning the laptop to concerned employee, when I tried to activate the office, I found that they had Office 2013 installer in the machine. So, recently, we went ahead and ordered Office 2016 with the laptops, and received an activation code for Office 2016. Now, Dell has started pushing Office 2016. I would activate the Office before assigning the laptop to an employee. Till now, we were getting Office 2013, and the box would have a Activation Code in it.

We order a lot of laptops from Dell, pre-imaged with Windows 7 (Not gone to Win10 yet) with MS Office installer integrated.
